Laparoscopic appendectomy, when not to perform it: Complications of complicated appendicitis due to inappropriate procedures

A 33-year-old male patient presented to the emergency department with acute abdominal pain in a moderate intensity range, 16 hours of evolution, located in the left iliac fossa with no other accompanying symptoms. Patient with a history of acute appendicitis and underwent laparoscopic surgery 7 days ago. The examination revealed a temperature rise of 39.4 degrees, tachycardia of 120 beats per minute, abdominal pain focused at the right and left iliac fossa, surgical scars with no signs of infection. First CT scan showed presence of a pneumoperitoneum at the subdifragmatic level in the left pararenal space, the laparoscopy procedure showed perforation of the sigmoid colon.
