Pediatric patient with autism spectrum disorder and hyperactive phenotype

Introduction: autism spectrum disorder is a neurodevelopmental disorder, with an interdisciplinary diagnosis, that affects the socio-communicative spheres, with repetitive and stereotyped behavioral alterations, with a wide spectrum of forms of presentation to superficial clinical analysis, which makes it difficult to early diagnosis in less common or atypical clinical presentations. Diagnosis in females usually occurs later than in males. Case presentation: girl, 7 years and 3 months old, referred to a private psychological consultation, undergoing a diagnostic process, based on background evaluation, clinical observation of behavior and free play, specific responses to difficulties and stress , standardized and normalized tests for international and national use. Final considerations: ASD is a potentially severe, highly prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder, with significant implications for the quality of life of patients and their families. Presentations in girls are shown both to a lesser extent and with different and varied behavioral phenotypes.
