Natural and Traditional Medicine in disaster situations

Introduction: natural, health and technological disasters have an increasing impact on human health, the environment and the economy. The shortages they cause reach the pharmaceutical chemical industry. It is necessary to resort to the use of variants of natural and traditional medicine as an effective therapeutic and not only as a complement to conventional medicine. Objective: describe the application of natural and traditional medicine in disaster situations. Methods: databases such as: Google Scholar were used to search for information; SciELO; Medscape; Lilacs, Medline, and for their processing the Microsoft Word 2019 word processor. The historical – logical used for the study of the history of Natural and traditional medicine, each of its antecedents, as well as its evolution, which allows establishing the theoretical framework. The analysis – synthesis to evaluate its management in disaster situations. Conclusions: in the face of a disastrous event that produces a considerable number of victims, it is necessary to harmoniously integrate the techniques of Natural and Traditional Medicine. Homeopathic medicine represents a highly effective remedy for the treatment of superficial and deep wounds. Apitherapy allows for preservation in deep skin lesions and burns. Through acupressure, symptoms such as pain, anxiety, stress or fear can be controlled, which always arise in disaster events.
