Keywords:

Introduction: anesthetics in dentistry are substances that lower the response threshold of neurons in the transmission of pain, giving an advantage to achieve uninterrupted treatment of the patient. Objective: describe the use of anesthetics with vasoconstrictors in hypertensive patients. Method: bibliographic review was conducted with a qualitative, descriptive, cross-sectional approach in search of collecting scientific articles from the main scientific databases in the last 5 years. Mainly looking for articles that indicate the use of anesthetics with epinephrine with the keywords "Hypertension, Anesthetics, Epinephrine, Dentistry". Development: the use of anesthetics in hypertensive patients has a variety of criteria, currently it is recommended to first define hypertension as a disease of elevated blood pressure above 160 mmHg / 99 mmHg, in which dental care faces a great risk such as hemorrhagic and circulatory problems with side effects. Conclusions: the use of anesthetics with vasoconstrictors is the first choice in patients with hypertension according to reports from the last 5 years.
