Ariel Nodarse Tápanes, the first neurosurgeon from Matanzas, was born in the city of Matanzas on Thursday, August 10, 1944, in a year marked by the epitome of World War II. The son of Dr. Francisco Nodarse Cabrera, a prominent Matanzas lawyer, young Ariel completed his initial and pre-university studies in this city, the birthplace of great physicians. At the age of 25, on February 9, 1970, he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Havana; the starting point of an enviable career.Downloads
