Policy on the use of generative artificial intelligence in academic and scientific literature

The recommendations stipulated by the Committee on Publication Ethics regarding the use of artificial intelligence in scientific research writing, as well as on the attribution of authorship of the manuscripts as established, will be strictly followed.

The authors must confirm or clarify any of the following assumptions, as appropriate, in the ethical disclosures section:

  • The authors declare that they have not used any type of generative artificial intelligence in the writing of their manuscript, it will only be allowed in the creation of figures, graphs, tables or their corresponding captions or legends with mandatory notification to the section editors.

  • All the articles received in the Gaceta Médica Estudiantil journal are verified by the editors during the publication process by using the tools available for the detection of generative artificial intelligence.

  • In case generative artificial intelligence is detected in the writing of the manuscript, the authors of the work will be contacted to report the rejection of the same.
