Abstract

Introduction: liver cirrhosis is a common condition that occurs at all latitudes and in all human groups, and it is most often seen after the middle age of life. Objective: describe the morpho-functional changes that occur in the liver as a result of liver cirrhosis. Method: the historical-logical methods used for the study of history were put in practice; allow to establish the theoretical framework and the analysis-synthesis to evaluate the information collected. Document analysis helped to obtain all documentation about liver cirrhosis. Results: a text organized in chapters was developed at which the microscopic matters of the liver, macroscopic alterations in liver cirrhosis, morphofunctional characteristics of the hepatocyte, faces or surfaces of the hepatocytes, liver Parenchymal Tissue organization, microscopic alterations in liver cirrhosis, liver functions, physiopathology of liver cirrhosis, coagulation, etiology, health prevention, surgical and Natural and Traditional Medicine treatment are dealt with. Conclusions: liver cirrhosis is one of the most aggressive conditions of the liver and has several causes, frequently of insidious manifestation; changes in the macroscopic and microscopic architecture of the organ are observed, as well as the abolition of several of its functions.
