Vision of nursing in promoting care for pregnant women in the face of the risk of Covid-19 infection

Abstract

Introduction: when providing care, the nurse takes into account all the components of health, promotion, health maintenance, health education, disease prevention and rehabilitative care. Objective: determine the nursing caregiver's vision in health promotion for pregnant women at the risk of Covid-19. Methods: a bibliographic-documentary review was carried out with a qualitative approach of descriptive design; through a detailed analysis of different bibliographic sources; This review consisted of 1,219 documents found in search engines and databases such as Google academic, PubMed, Dialnet, Scielo, institutional repositories, Elsevier, CORE, Virtual Health Library, Hindawui, Medigraphic, scientific journals; The inclusion criteria were research articles published in the last 5 years. Results: pregnancy complications due to Covid-19 were fetal distress and premature rupture of membranes; comorbidities such as obesity and asthma. Cesarean sections indicated for Covid-19 were frequent (51%). The common neonatal events were low weight and prematurity; Neonates positive for SARS-CoV-2 are identified (14%). Conclusions: pregnancy is a condition that makes women vulnerable to suffering some risk; however, no serious situation has been demonstrated in the face of this virus, but it is important to make pregnant women aware of safety issues. It is necessary to strengthen the nursing counseling work for this important group of women.
