Evaluation of the student research design methodologies in health technologies, 2019-2020

Introduction: the new professionals of Medical Sciences need in their training a solid command of Research Methodology that will allow them to discover the truth of the world around them focused it from a scientific conception. However, it has been detected that students present difficulties methodologically in the research design, which compromises the quality of research in general. Objective: to assess the methodological designs of the papers presented at the Jornada Científica Estudiantil de Tecnología de la Salud, 2019-2020. Method: a qualitative research was carried out to describe the methodological designs of the research presented at the overmentioned Jornada Científica Estudiantil. Empirical methods were used, like: documentary analysis, and theoretical methods like: analytical-synthetic, historical-logical, and inductive-deductive. Results: achievements and deficiencies of the works presented were identified. 62.5% of the works were assessed as Inadequate. Only 12.5% obtained an evaluation of Adequate. It was noted that most of difficulties are presented in the bibliographic references. Conclusions: it is clear that there are difficulties in the methodological design of the research presented; however, the main achievements are recognized.
